❤ We are so impressed with Nancy’s newest comfort dolls, especially those that she has embellished with a hand-crocheted hat.
Thanks, Nancy, we are sure the kids will love them as much as we do!
Eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables is an important part of a healthy lifestyle.
We are knitting in earnest on our series of fresh fruit and veggie hats for the UVa Children’s Hospital.
In addition to pumpkins, we’re working on tomatoes, strawberries, plums, and eggplants—and we may even be able to develop a corn on the cob hat. Stay tuned for more on that, and other ideas as we brainstorm on this.
We hope all kids will love their veggies!
Now that the weather is turning warmer and our stockpile of hats is growing larger, we have been looking for some summertime projects.
Loom a Hat to the rescue again!
We were inspired by Denise’s recent post (with full instructions!) on loom-knitting comfort dolls, and decided to try to make some of our own. What fun – and perfect for the kids at the UVa Children’s Hospital!
Thanks, Denise. You have been our inspiration from the start!

Susi made our first deliveries of our Comfy Hats for cancer patients at the University of Virginia Health System on August 4, 2014. We are so pleased to have our basket of free hats in Ramona’s Room at the Flourish Boutique, Emily Couric Cancer Center, and our gift bag of free hats at the UVa Children’s Hospital. This is just the beginning!
